Summary:
Megumi comes to the rescue of her fellow jujutsu wizards by infiltrating Dagon’s domain extension with her own. Wizards are able to make a counterattack against the curse without the domain’s auto-hit active. However, their escape takes an unexpected turn when someone else follows Megumi inside.
Plot:
A twister of Megumi’s liquid shadows erupts from the ocean of the captivating Skandha’s Horizon. Floating above the tornado of shadows for a moment, Megumi looks out over the coastal area and notices Dagon. He immediately recognizes that the octopus-like curse is the lord of the estate. Believing Megumi to be foolish for entering the area voluntarily, Dagon prepares to attack him.
Maki quickly attacks Dagon with a special cursed tool: Playful Cloud, and with the first hit she takes off a piece of the cursed spirit’s arm. Dagon is surprised that he was actually hurt, and Maki follows up with another blow that sends Dagon skidding across the ocean water. He recovers from the attacks and learns that his guaranteed hit has been canceled due to Megumi. Locked in a tug of war over the domain, Dagon decides to crush Megumi before doing anything else.
The cursed spirit spawns fish shikigami from its body and sends them swimming in the water at its opponent. Nanami jumps over the toads manifested from Megumi’s Chimera Shadow Garden and dismembers the fish. Megumi is surprised to see him and Nanami asks about Yuji and Ino. Megumi informs him of their condition and Nanami focuses on protecting Megumi so he can focus on maintaining the domain.
Dagon is shocked, Nanami was able to withstand the Death Swarm for about a minute. Suddenly, Naobito appears behind him and attacks with blinding speed. Dagon takes cover under the attack and is equally surprised that the old man also survived. Maki comes to attack behind the curse and Dagon fights back by spawning two large eel-like shikigami to fend off the wizard. Naobito traps whoever is attacking him in a frame and crushes him with a heavy stomp. Maki also defends herself and both stand on either side of Dagon. Naobito tells Dagon that all he did was get one arm. He adds that even if it were seventy-one years, the curse would still come at a cost.
Nanami continues to defend Megumi, but the young wizard is reaching his limit. Megumi reveals that he is actually trying to open a hole in the domain barrier rather than engaging in a domain battle. Octopus Curse probably can’t cast domain extension twice in the same day, so if the jujutsu wizards manage to escape, they can win. Nanami makes sure that Megumi doesn’t plan on being left behind, and the student makes it clear that he has no intention of throwing his life away.
Nanami calls out to the Zeninas and tells them to gather at the roundabout. They put their faith in Nanami’s words and immediately rushed towards him. Dagon is momentarily confused, but quickly figures out his opponents plan. He panics and rushes to stop them. Nanami believes it is too late as a hole appears in the ground beneath Megumi leading outside the barrier.
They all gather in time to escape, but something unexpected happens. Before the wizards can leave the domain, Toji Fushiguro suddenly enters through the hole and everyone is forced to bear witness to the body of the one who is free and all its overwhelming intensity.
