Summary:
The Shibuya Incident Begins! A massive curtain imbued with special conditions traps the civilians in Shibuya, and each of them is told to plead the same thing: “bring Satoru Gojo”. While four teams of jujutsu wizards wait outside, the cursed spirits waiting underground for Gojo are ready to spring a trap.
Plot:
The recording of the Shibuya incident begins at 19:00, when a curtain with a radius of four hundred meters is thrown in the middle of the city of Shibuya. Non-magicals can enter the curtain, but cannot exit and be trapped inside. Wizards and Jujutsu Masters can move about it as they please, but the reception is blocked, so all communication must be kept outside the curtain.
Kiyotaka Ijichi briefs Team Nanami on the situation beyond the curtain in the Tokyo subway, Shibuya station. It consists of Nanami, Megumi and Takuma Ino. Nanami comments that the situation is quite painful, while Ino tries to inform Megumi more about the curtain.
Conditions added to curtains generally revolve around curses, so blocking intake is a secondary effect. Megumi already knows, so Nanami tells Ino to stop showing off just because she’s older. Ino takes exception to this comment, but Nanami ignores him and asks Ijichi where Gojo is.
Meanwhile, just outside the Shibuya Mark City mall, there is no one outside the normally busy intersection in front of the station. Something terrible happened and they all parted near the perimeter of the curtain. They all ask the same thing, “bring Satoru Gojo”. Akari Nitta relays this information to the Zenin team, which consists of Nobara, Maki, and the head of the Zenin family, Naobito Zenin.
Naobito understands that the non-wizards were told to say that. Wizards can move in and out of the curtain freely, making it impossible for them to break the barrier through brute force. The ideal strategy is to seek out and neutralize the curse user who casts the curtain. However, each team is on alert for now as the superiors have decided that Gojo should work alone to quell the Shibuya incident as quickly as possible.
Team Kusakabe consists of only Panda and second year teacher Atsuya Kusakabe himself. He tells Panda that Mei Mei has a team, just as they wait outside Jr Shibuya Station. The job of all units is to secure the perimeter of the curtain and take care of anything that might slip past Gojo. Panda understands that he doesn’t want useless jujutsu wizards to get hurt when they can’t communicate inside the curtain anyway. As for the civilians, Kusakabe insists that it is relatively quiet inside the curtain. Civilians panic, but no one and nothing around them kills them. In that case, Kusakabe still wouldn’t go back in because there are a lot of special curses inside the Shibuya Hikarie building.
Inside the curtain, civilians dressed in their Halloween costumes discuss the situation. They want Gojo to hurry up and show up so they can leave and people are losing patience. The two girls compare it to a horror movie where they are all trapped. Another guy tells them about the incident where they were all pulled into the station while waiting at the intersection by Shibuya Mark City, just like Akari mentioned earlier.
At 8:31 p.m., Satoru Gojo comes behind the curtain and bursts into the Shibuya Hikarie ShinQ shopping mall, hundreds of civilians in Halloween costumes huddled together. Satoru analyzes the situation and heads straight down to BF5, the lowest level basement where the subway works. He realizes that he has an idea of the enemy’s plan and urges them to try their best.
At Aoyama Cemetery, Mei Mei’s team awaits further instructions. Yuji is eager to help, and Mei Mei assumes that they will soon be called in as backup. Ui Ui, Mei Mei’s younger brother feels that she should not be used in such a way. They receive word that another curtain has appeared to coincide with Goya’s arrival. Team Mei Mei runs towards Meiji-Jingu-Mae Station and Yuji assures Mei Mei that she can keep up.
Satoru descends into Tokyo Subway BF5 at the Fukutoshin platform, where he is confronted by Jogo, Hanami, and Choso. Satoru tells Jogo not to have an apology this time, and Jogo replies that the strongest wizard should have his first ever apology ready.
