Summary:
Yuji and Mahita’s rivalry comes to a dramatic end when the jujutsu wizard lands a Black Flash that ends the fight! However, the victory is short-lived as an even greater threat takes center stage after the Shibuya incident ends.
Plot:
There is not a single jujutsu user who can conjure black sparks at will. However, Yuji’s fighting ability is so incredible that anyone watching would believe that he is capable of unleashing the Black Flash at will. Mahito knows he’s vulnerable to being hit by another one of Yuji’s Black Flash attacks, meaning a careless entry will only lead to his end.
Believing that he means a countermeasure, Mahito partially deactivates the Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing on the left side of his body. The special class believes that Yuji will target his sweet spot and that will have a chance to counter him and cut off his head. Yuji actually hits Mahito’s left side and seems to be taking the bait. Just as Mahito tries to kill himself, the second impact throws off the trajectory of his counter strike.
Since his fight with Chos, Yuji has been able to wield the Divergent Fist at will. Yuji ducks under Mahito’s missed attack and prepares to deliver the final blow. Cursed Spirit strengthens his left side with Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing and tries to hit his opponent first. Suddenly, Toda’s voice echoes across the battlefield, interrupting Mahita’s momentum. Todo is standing above the crater and his best friend is fighting Mahito inside. Todo tells the cursed spirit that the arm is merely a decoration and the act of clapping is the acclamation of the soul.
A 1st-level wizard uses his amputated arm to mimic the clapping of his remaining hand. Trying to anticipate the change, Mahito quickly turns and attacks. In the end, he misses nothing and realizes that Todo has tricked him for the last time. Todo apologizes and claims that Boogie Woogie is already dead. Taking advantage of his ally’s clever thinking, Yuji hits Mahito with Black Lightning imbued with his maximum cursed energy.
The impact of Yuji’s punch is so violent that it covers his opponent in a streak of cursed energy that ejects the cursed spirit from the crater. Mahito is badly injured and depleted of cursed energy, forced out of the Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing. Moreover, the special grade is beyond transfigured people. Yuji stands over Mahito as despair takes hold for the first time in his existence.
Like the curse proclaimed earlier in their fight, Yuji admits that he is Mahito. Yuji no longer needs a reason to kill Mahito and will cast curses no matter what form they take. Fully aware that he is nothing more than a cog in the fight between the two sides, Yuji is content to play his part as a jujutsu wizard against the cursed ghost menace. Mahito desperately tries to escape as Yuji chases him from behind like a wolf chasing a rabbit in the snow.
Before Yuji can finish off Mahito for good, an even stronger predator arrives. Pseudo-Geto suddenly appears in front of Mahito, standing over him and looking down on his fellow Special Class citizens. While Yuji and Mahito are both surprised by his sudden appearance, Geto questions whether he should save the curse.
