Summary:
Yuji and Nanami participate in a climactic battle against Mahito. They gain the upper hand, but the edge of death inspires a curse to activate the domain extension! With his mentor trapped in Mahito’s palm, can Yuji save Nanami from certain death?
Plot:
Nanami assesses the situation and decides that he and Yuji need to create openings for each other and exorcise Mahito as soon as possible. In response, Mahito sees an eye on his right palm and turns his left arm into a blade. The battle begins and they trade blows until Mahito turns into a ball of spikes. He quickly realizes that it has failed and is attacked from both sides by wizards. Mahito escapes by transforming into a child version of himself, and the wizards realize that his cursed energy reserves are accumulating just before the transformation.
Mahito returns to normal size as he risks dying from one hit by Yuji. He knocks out the little transfigured people and mutates them so they can attack Yuji. At the same time, Mahito focuses on getting rid of Nanami. He believes that Yuji can’t kill people as the student runs away from the small transformed children and tries to figure out what he has to do. Mahito pins Nanami to the wall and berates Yuji for his foolishness, but the 1st grade wizard believes that Mahito is the one who is foolish.
Yuji saves Nanami in time and confirms that he sent the transformed people. Now that Nanami and Yuji know Mahito’s trick, it’s easier for them to time their blows and overwhelm him before he can change. As they continue to beat Mahita closer to death, he gains inspiration from it, enough to activate the domain extension for the first time. Mahito has approached his true soul form and pulls Nanami into his domain: The Self-Embodiment of Perfection. Mahito says he is grateful to Nanami for helping him reach his full potential while Yuji is trapped outside the barrier.
Nanami quickly reads the situation and realizes that she is literally in Mahita’s hands, this type of domain extension is a guaranteed win. He remembers how he got bread from his favorite bakery and how the fly’s head cursed the baker. During that time, he stopped being a wizard and worked as a simple merchant. However, he eventually realized that making rich people richer doesn’t help anyone in the grand scheme of things, especially not compared to the baker girl who keeps bringing happiness. The next time Nanami returned to the bakery, he decided to exorcise the curse and received the girl’s gratitude in return. This gave Nanami the motivation she needed to return the favor to humanity as a jujutsu wizard.
Mahito claims to be grateful, but Nanami has already been appreciated by others such as the baker. She takes off her sunglasses and says she doesn’t need his thanks and has no regrets at all. Just as Nanami prepares to die, Yuji infiltrates Mahita’s estate from the outside. The stronger the barrier is on the inside, the weaker it is on the outside. This forces Mahita to touch Sukun’s soul, for which he is promptly punished. Sukuna defeats Mahito because the Curse King really couldn’t care less about anyone but Megumi.
Injured Mahito, blood flows furiously from his body. Although confused by what happened, Yuji senses a critical moment and attacks. Mahito inflates his body and Yuji hits him with his Divergent Fist. However, it was a simple distraction and Mahito escapes into the sewers. Nanami quickly calls the Level 2 wizard Takuma Ino, who is still underground, and orders him to break the weakened curse and exorcise him. Nanami wants to give chase as well, but Yuji’s body eventually succumbs to all his injuries.
Mahito makes it to safety underground and thinks about Sukuna’s presence. His cursed energy levels are lower than Mahita’s, but his presence is omnipotent. Mahito knows that until Sukuna is fully resurrected, the age of curses will come. However, he is distracted by his unquenchable desire to kill Yuji. Mahito decides to settle for killing Yuji’s soul over and over again, wondering how he will accomplish this the next time they meet.
After Yuji recovers from his injuries, he meets Nanami at the morgue. Nanami explains what happened and Yuji claims that Sukun saved Nanami, not him. He also feels guilty about killing people and admits that he is not sure what it means to help people achieve a proper death. Nanami says that all people are neither good nor bad and no one dies the same death, so guiding people to the right death is impossible. However, Yuji is still the type of person who should try, so Nanami just asks that he not die in the process. Nanami recognizes him as a wizard and says that it is his responsibility to stay alive to save the others.
At Satozakura High School, the faculty implements countermeasures against bullying. Teacher Sotomura meets with Shota Ito and admits that they both failed Junpei, but all the troublemakers in disguise will be exposed from now on.
Yuji rejoins Satoru Gojo sensei and Nanami, thinking and telling himself that until he kills Mahito, he will never lose again.

Panda, Toge, Maki, Megumi and Nobara are sitting together eating hotpot. Megumi lifts the lid to reveal a beautiful boiling pot. After taking a bite, Maki comments that the meatballs are great and asks who made them. Megumi replies yes and that they were easy to make. Maki comments that it’s not surprising that Megumi can cook on her own, to which Megumi says that Yuji actually taught him how to make them. The group pauses as they still think Yuji is dead, and Nobara calls the meatballs Yuji’s heirloom, which Maki quickly counters.
Elsewhere, Yuji sneezes (as his friends refer to him). He and Gojo also have meatball hotpot. Gojo says that the meatballs are great, to which Yuji replies that they are very easy to make – even Megumi can make them.
