Summary:
Yuji and Megumi manage to get Hakari and Kirara to listen to them. Hakari is surprised by what happened in Shibuya and agrees to help, but only on the condition that he returns the favor in the future. With powerful new allies joining their group, Yuji and Megumi form a plan of action to enter the Culling Game.
Plot:
Hakari finally sits down and listens to what Yuji and Megumi have to say. He is completely surprised to hear that Satoru Gojo has indeed been sealed away. Panda adds that Masamichi Yaga died fighting a superior after Shibuya, surprising everyone.
Yuji and Megumi worry about their senpai since Yaga was basically his father, but Panda says it’s okay. Hakari expresses that he is upset now that everyone who ever cared about him is out of the picture. Apparently he hadn’t been this sad since someone named Yakul had been shot in the stock with an arrow.
Hakari agrees to help fight the Culling Game, which gives Megumi some relief and makes the others laugh. However, Hakari tells them not to get the wrong idea and makes it clear that they all understand that this is a deal and they must return the favor in the future. Panda knows that Hakari wants a revision of the jujutsu regulations and asks what exactly he wants to know. Megumi comments that she doesn’t think whatever it is will be difficult, which annoys Hakari since he was the one who was asked. Hakari calls Megumi a “sea urchin head” and asks what he might know, prompting Megumi to reveal that she is the head of the Zenin clan.
A shocked Hakari finds this even more of a surprise than the news about Gojo and Yaga. He believes that with the support of the big three families, implementing revisions to the regulations will be easy. The hardest part of preventing the Zenin Clan from taking control of the Battle Club would come later. To get ahead of this potential problem, Hakari puts on a friendly face and asks Megumi to be a bud. Unbeknownst to both of them, Maki destroys the Zenin clan the next day.
As everyone agrees, Yuji declares that they have to decide who will go to which colony, when Kogane suddenly appears above Yuji and lets out a loud ringing sound. Kogane announces that a player has added a new rule to the game that allows players to access information about other players. This information includes their name, number of points, number of rules added, and their current colony. This rule was added by Hajime Kashimo, an elite player dominating colony #2 in Tokyo. Hajime considers all the current players they have encountered to be weaklings compared to the ones they fought four hundred years ago, and wonders where Sukuna is.
After the announcement, Kogane introduces himself to Yuji. He has a different voice than the announcements, as he now acts as an intermediary for the Culling Game assigned to Yuji. Megumi doesn’t understand why Yuji is already considered a player before entering the barrier colony. Yuji believes it has something to do with Sukuna and theorizes that maybe that’s how Sukuna became a cursed item. Megumi points out that it’s still strange because Yuji swallowed Sukun’s finger of his own free will, unlike other past wizards who had contracts with Kenjaku.
“
Yuji has Kogane show him his own information about the player, and Megumi uses the list to find Kashima’s name, identifying them as the one who added the rule. Megumi believes they can get through the Culling Game without killing anyone by forcing someone with enough points to add a rule. The two players who suit up are Hajime Kashimo and Hiromi Higuruma.
To save Tsumiki, the first rule they add must compensate for rule 8, which details the removal of a cursed technique after 19 days of inactivity. Megumi states that they can do so by adding a rule that allows players to transfer points between themselves. After adding this rule, Megumi suggests adding another one that allows players to spend points to remove themselves from the game entirely. Hakari points out that this may be against the game’s long-standing rules, but Megumi figures it might work if a non-player replaces them. It’s ultimately up to the gamemaster, but regardless, the team now has a plan of action. As they search for Angel to break the seal on the Prison Realm, they target and chase Hajime Kashimo and Hiromi Higuruma!
