Summary:
After correctly analyzing Mahorag and deducing his abilities, Sukun will launch a counterattack! Sukuna uses all the powers he has shown so far to knock down the uncontrollable shikigami and save Megumi. However, after the battles, Yuji leaves behind a terrible aftermath.
Plot:
Sukun’s technique is divided into two types of slashing attacks. Default slash “Dismantle” and second “Cleave”. This can be modified with Cursed Energy to take down Sukun’s target in one move.
Malevolent Shrine, unlike other domain expansions, separates space from its barrier. To manifest one’s innate domain without closing its barrier is like painting a masterpiece on air without a canvas, a truly divine technique.
By enabling an escape route from the domain with the Binding Vow, Sukuna increases the guaranteed area of impact to its nearly two hundred meter radius. He narrows the effective range to a hundred and forty meters so as not to hit Megumi, but mercilessly chops up the rest of this Shibuya area.
Civilians hiding nearby after being rescued by Toge Inumaki are violently torn apart. Dismantle is used on inanimate objects, while anything with cursed energy in range is hit by Cleave. While Malevolent Shrine is active, Sukun’s slashing attacks relentlessly reduce everything within the effective range of her guaranteed hit.
Almost two hundred meters of Shibuya is decimated in an instant by Sukuna’s attack. Sukuna assumes that the only way to defeat Mahoraga is to kill him with another attack before he recovers. However, Mahoraga has adapted not only to Dismantle, but slashing attacks in general. This means that Mahoraga will soon recover and Sukuna must act quickly. He reactivates his arcane flame technique and fires a fire arrow at the shikigami before it heals. The impact creates a giant column of explosive flames that completely decimates Mahoraga.
Shigemo watches in awe, seemingly out of Sukuna’s reach. The Curse King walks back to Megumi with Mahoraga’s wheel in hand. He throws an eight crank wheel past Shigem and it disintegrates shortly after, cementing Sukun’s victory.
Annoyed, Sukuna asks Shigem what he’s looking at and tells him to get out of sight. Feeling extremely happy, Shigemo runs away, elated to have escaped yet another dangerous situation alive. His innate technique preserves the small miracles of each day that are erased from his memory. Miracles are unleashed to save Shigem’s life when he is in danger. The signs under his eyes show how many miracles are stored, but he doesn’t even realize how it works.
Believing he has escaped the day with his life, Shigemo flees. However, his body suddenly separates, revealing that he was also cut by the effects of Sukun’s attack. The curse user’s luck ran out in the fight against Kento Nanami. His body horribly splits into two separate pieces and Shigemo dies.
As Sukuna leaves without remorse, she feels she is losing control and decides to take Megumi to where Shoko Ieiri and Principal Yaga are. Sukuna disappears as quickly as he appears, and Masamichi only notices him for a second, wondering if it was Sukuna or Yuji. Sukuna releases control over Yuji’s body, allowing the young student to see the chaos that was unleashed instead of him.
