Summary:
To save Megumi, Sukuna faces the uncontrollable shikigami Mahoraga in battle! While Sukuna soon gains the upper hand, she quickly realizes that Mahoraga’s ability to adapt is nothing to scoff at. Mahoraga might have been able to defeat Sukuna if Megumi had summoned her when they first met, but ten fingers later, the Curse King can show his true power.
Plot:
Mahoraga attacks, swinging a blade attached to his fist. Sukuna blocks the blade with her forearm, creating a shock wave that knocks Shigema off balance.
Sukuna notices that the blade is emitting a strange energy and moves out of the way before it can break through his defenses. While upside down in the air, Sukuna delivers a flurry of left hand strikes. He lands and follows up by unleashing his cursed Disassemble technique, slicing the shikigami’s body all over.
While Mahoraga recovers from a severe wound, Sukuna recognizes the specialized blade as a cursed tool for cursed spirits; sword of extermination. The blade is enveloped in positive energy similar to that produced by the reverse technique. If Sukuna was a normal cursed spirit, his opponent would have chopped him up.
The eight-spoke wheel on Mahorag’s head spins and suddenly heals all his wounds. Sukuna quickly attacks again, but this time his slashing technique is deflected by Mahoraga, surprising him.
Mahoraga swings his blade again and Sukuna goes to block, but this time it is immediately broken and he smashes through several buildings on impact. Sukuna finally breaks through the last wall into the office. Sukuna amusedly admits that his opponent is not bad. In no time, Mahoraga clears the giant area he just hit Sukuna through to follow up with another attack.
Mahoraga tries to stab Sukuna in the face, but he jumps over the blade and kicks his opponent at the same time. Sukuna mounts the opponent’s giant arm and places a palm on the shikigami’s face, saying it’s his turn now. Sukuna activates her chopping technique and cuts the entire office building in half. The impact causes the shikigami to fall out of the structure, only for Sukuna to follow and kick him straight into the ground.
Sukuna lands next to his recovering opponent, assuming he will heal again based on his observation. The eight-spoke wheel spins and all of Mahoraga’s injuries disappear just as Sukuna expected. Sukuna compares this ability to Yamata-no-Orochi. Mahorag’s first attack was boosted by positive energy. When that didn’t work, he adjusted and powered up his second attack with cursed energy. Additionally, it was able to see Sukun’s Cursed Technique and deflect it. Both of these things happened after the eight-crank wheel had turned for the first time. Furu’s Conjuration of the Ten Sacred Treasures and the Eight Crank Wheel represent a complete cycle and harmony. From this information, Sukuna deduces that Mahoraga’s technique allows her to adapt to all phenomena.
Sukuna admits that if Megumi had released the creature when they first fought, it could have defeated him. He thanks Megumi for showing him the way and activates the Domain Expansion: Malevolent Shrine!
