Summary:
Yuji bonds with Junpei through movies and joins him for dinner with his mother. Meanwhile, both Kento Nanami and Mahito are recovering from their encounter.
Plot:
Junpei and Yuji continue to talk about movies. Junpei explains why he liked the second “Earthworm Man” movie and asks if Yuji likes movies too. Yuji explains that his circumstances force him to watch a lot of movies lately, but not in the theater.
Junpei believes that movies are best watched at the cinema and Yuji requests that they go together in the future. Just as Junpei is collecting Yuji’s contact information, his mother arrives to bring him home. Junpei’s mother meets her son’s new friend and invites him to dinner.
Meanwhile, underground, Mahito escapes from a debris trap created by Nanami. He is pleased with Nanami’s tactics and Geto arrives to commentate the duel. Mahito tells Getro that he has learned a lot about his own abilities. He is able to maintain his soul form even when crushed and says he can manipulate his cursed energy purely at will. Geto asks about Nanami’s fate, but Mahito isn’t sure what happened to him.
Above ground, Kiyotaka Ijichi calls Yuji and is surprised to find him watching movies at Junpei’s house. Afraid that Nanami will scold him for screwing up as a manager, Ijichi rushes to pick up Yuji. His worst fears come true when Nanami calls him, but the 1st grade wizard enlists the help of Dr. Ieiri to treat his injuries. Ijichi replies that he will come right after he picks up Yuji and reveals himself in the accident. Nanami screams for a moment before hanging up. It focuses more on the fact that the only reason he made it out of the battle with Mahit alive is because he is a child.
Nanami worries that Mahito will continue to enjoy himself as he grows in power. If he becomes as powerful as Jogo, the cursed spirit that fought Satoru, Nanami worries that they might not have to exorcise Mahita before it’s too late. Back at Junpei’s house, Yuji bonds with Junpei and his mother. Despite Junpei’s mother acting like a drunken fool, Yuji says that she is a good person. He shares that he never knew either of his parents, but he always had his grandfather.
After Yuji takes a call from Ijichi, Junpei asks if he is a jujutsu wizard. Yuji admits that he does, and Junpei asks if he’ll ever have to kill someone. Yuji would rather not kill anyone, but he is not naive enough to believe that the choice to kill will never come to him. Even so, he fears the day when he values life less than he does now because it might affect how he feels about those who are important to him.
That night, after Yuji leaves, Junpei tells himself that he won’t be able to kill because it will taint his soul. When he wakes up in the kitchen, he thinks of his mother. She realizes that Yuji has left and is confused by the finger sitting on her desk. Unfortunately, it’s one of Sukuna’s fingers and it’s pulling a cursed spirit after her.
