Summary:
Yuji finds the Grasshopper Curse guarding the curtain on the B2F of Meiji-Jingumae Station. It engages humanity’s expressed hatred of the Locust Plague and showcases the difference in their raw skills. Meanwhile, Mahito continues his plans downstairs and runs away before Mei Mei’s team can reach him.
Plot:
Mankind fears, hates, and curses the locust plague, which leads to Yuji fighting the cursed spirit.
The Grasshopper Curse lunges at Yuji with its jumping power and tries to slash him with its jaws. Yuji dodges the attacks while assessing her powers, acknowledging her ability to communicate makes her a stronger curse. He gets to the side and tries to punch him, but Yuji twists his body and continues to avoid being hit.
Yuji recognizes that the curse wants to use its four arms and bite to fight directly without any sneaky attacks. Smart Grasshopper asks if Yuji is smart, and the student tells her that smart people generally never brag about being smart. This really shocks Grasshopper Curse, who covers his mouth in surprise.
They engage in close quarters and exchange blows with each other. Grasshopper believes he has an advantage in a battle of numbers because he has two extra arms. However, Yuji easily overpowers and beats his opponent with far superior skills.
The Grasshopper Curse is trying to shoot black slime at Yuji, so he ducks under and prepares to strike. Grasshoppers have distensible bellies to lay their eggs deep in the ground. Curse attempts to hit Yuji with an extended hard spike while he is down.
Yuji is too quick and throws the attachment aside before completely separating it with a chop. There is no amount of sneaky attacks that can bridge the skill gap between the two. Unable to forgive the curse for eating people, Yuji exorcises her immediately before breaking the stake and canceling the curse. Meanwhile, Mei Mei kills the transformed people at B4F and saves the civilians there. Ui Ui informs her that the curtain has been dissolved and Mei Mei decides that they should stay and wait for her to regroup with Yuji before heading down to B5F.
Below them, Mahito prepares to board the train from Harajuku to Shibuya Station. He notices that Grasshopper’s curse has been defeated and admits that it must have taken a skilled wizard to do so. Mahito expresses his disappointment as he also wanted to fight. He knows what he has to do and sticks to the plan, he understands that he has a job to do.
