Summary:
After locating his target, Yuta descends to the scene to cut to the middle of Yuji and Chosa’s fight with Naoya. Seeing this as an opportunity, Naoya turns Yuta to her side and the two work together to separate Yuji from Chosa.
Plot:
As Yuta draws his katana, Yuji asks who he is and Choso seems to recognize his target. Yuta jumps from the balcony above and destroys part of the wall on the way down, leaving both Yuji and Choso speechless.
He slowly approaches them and asks who is with Yuji, and Choso says that Yuta must be Yuji’s executioner. Naoya raises both hands assuring Yuta that she is on his side and asks him if he is Okkotsu. Yuji remembers the name as the second year student Megumi mentioned and that like Gojo, he is a special class wizard.
Naoya introduces himself as Maki’s cousin and says that his goal is to kill Yuji as well, assuring him that he will not interfere, but asks for something in return. Choso whispers to Yuji that they have to run since they still don’t know Naoyi’s speed trick and adds that he will take him on. Yuji asks if he’ll be okay, and as he prepares his Blood Manipulation, Choso tells Yuji that he needs to focus on getting away from Okkotsu, pointing out that if he tries to fight someone like Gojo, he will be killed. Choso thinks to himself and is glad that Yuji won’t have to fight human wizards or feel bad for leaving his side.
Naoya asks Yuta not to tell his superiors if he kills Yuji, revealing that he is a decoy for someone he plans to meet. He also thinks to himself that he wishes he hadn’t mentioned Megumi earlier. Choso whispers to Yuji that he will meet him at yesterday’s location, and Yuji acknowledges it. After Yuta agrees to Naoya’s deal and leaves Choso to him, they all suddenly make their move, with Yuta sprinting past Choso towards Yuji, Choso trying to slow him down with a shot of Piercing Blood, and Naoya interrupting the attack.
Yuji sprints away from Yuta, each surprised by the other’s speed. As Choso wonders if they guessed that he was trying to block Yuta, he prepares his Blood Manipulation again, but Naoya hits him before he can use it, revealing that he saw it earlier. While he is unsure why Choso has this ability, he remains unfazed by her, with the exception of Piercing Blood, but reminds him that he needs to recharge it. He ends his explanation, as the rest is obvious, he tells Chos it’s time for him to die. Choso gets serious and asks Naoyi if she thinks he’ll make it out alive after trying to hurt his little brother.
From the underpass, Yuji sprints to the car that is on its side and jumps over it, with Yuta quickly running to the other side with his katana at the ready. However, Yuji grabs hold of the car and reverses direction, barely dodging Yuto’s punch. Yuta is stunned as he thought he made contact and tells Yuji that she is like Maki. Yuji suddenly slams his car towards Yuto, knowing he can’t win outside, he runs towards the surrounding buildings.
However, the car is thrown over Yuji’s head, stopping him in his tracks. Yuta asks Yuji if he’s surprised since he doesn’t seem like the strong type, adding that he’s on the weak side. Yuji recognizes the vast amount of cursed energy that Yuta has and realizes that the two are opposites. Yuta reveals that even though he has more cursed energy than Gojo, their teacher’s Six Eyes allows him to reduce his energy loss when he activates the cursed technique to almost zero.
After telling Yuji that Gojo is the best because he never runs out of cursed energy, Yuta says he’s done talking and sprints towards Yuji, who is quickly stunned and remembers Aoi’s words about the elite wizard’s cursed energy flow and that it is hard to read. Yuta appears to make contact with the hilt of his katana, and as Yuji recovers from the blow, he recognizes that Yuta’s body and katana are constantly brimming with cursed energy. He tells himself that it’s not about reading his moves, it’s about being decisive with every punch and being able to minimize any damage. He remembers Nanami’s last words and tells Yuto that he can’t die yet.
