Summary:
Hiromi Higuruma is not only a brilliant lawyer, she is also a naturally gifted wizard. Against such a ruthless opponent, Yuji must overcome the slim odds of victory while fighting without using his cursed energy.
Plot:
Hiromi Higuruma is a thirty-six-year-old man and a member of the Iwate Law Firm, who has always overcome major challenges, such as the law school entrance exams and the bar exam he passed. For Higiruma, it was just a matter of making the right effort to acquire the required knowledge. Higuruma had always been considered a genius by his peers, but now something stood out about him even more than this.
Higuruma continues to attack Yuji and lunches and hits Yuji with a mallet. Yuji jumps to avoid him, but Higuruma causes a hammer to appear in his other hand, allowing him to quickly attack again. Higuruma continues to move the hammer into his free hand and quickly smashes towards his opponent. Yuji narrowly avoids the fire and tries to counter with an elbow. Higuruma switches the form of the club into a flexible hook and wraps it around Yuji’s inner elbow before throwing the opponent back and returning the club to normal. What makes Higuruma stand out even more than his genius as a lawyer is his talent as a wizard.
Higuruma learned the basics of barrier techniques by analyzing the domain expansion that appeared by default upon his awakening as a wizard. By working backwards from there, Higuruma instinctively understood how to strengthen his body with cursed energy. Within twelve days of this awakening, Higuruma had blossomed into a fighter comparable to a 1st rank sorcerer. He had exorcised several cursed spirits before joining Tokyo Colony No. 1, and since then had eliminated at least twenty players.
Before attacking Yuji again, Higuruma asks him if he can’t control his cursed energy. Yuji is confused because Higuruma is the reason, but the confiscation penalty apparently takes away the person’s ability to use cursed techniques. Since Yuji does not have an innate curse technique, the effect came down to preventing him from fully utilizing his cursed energy. This concerns Higuruma as Yuji was somehow able to survive. He quickly figured it must be because of the incredible physical prowess. Normally, confiscation weakens the cursed energy control of Higuruma’s opponents due to the loss of their cursed technique. Losing the ability to use cursed energy is even worse and yet Yuji still fights. Because of this, Higuruma takes him as a very serious threat and focuses on not getting tripped up.
Determined to crush Yuji with all his might, Higuruma shifts the hammer to the staff and attacks with a flurry of swings. Yuji manages to dodge them and grabs onto the middle of the wand, only for Higuruma to make it disappear before he can pull it away. Yuji jumps up and kicks the tub that Higuruma placed early. Higuruma smashes the tub with a hammer, releasing a flood of water and broken pieces of the tub. Yuji shields his face and his opponent explodes from behind the water curtain. Higuruma enlarges his mallet to a huge size and strikes Yuji with it. Not even enough to crush Yuji, though he is barely able to withstand the weight of the impact. Impressed, Higuruma compares his experience to fighting an indestructible doll. However, Yuji knows that he is in serious trouble and won’t last much longer under the weight of the giant mallet.
Yuji finds Higuruma’s technique to be exceptionally strong and thinks that this must also mean a compensatory weakness. He frantically remembers his interactions with Higuruma so far and remembers the mental notes he made about the cursed technique based on the exam. Before being crushed, Yuji calls out Higurum’s name and demands a restart of the process, immediately transporting them both to the domain. As no violence can occur in the domain, Yuji is saved and expresses his immediate relief.
Higuruma sees that Yuji is beginning to understand his technique. The judge found Yuji guilty and sentenced him, so if Yuji doesn’t directly plead guilty, he can request a retrial, which cannot be denied. In another trial, Judgeman announces that Yuji is accused of mass murder in Shibuya on October 31, 2018. Yuji is shocked, knowing that he is talking about Sukuna’s rampage during the Shibuya incident. Higuruma receives the evidence, but before he even has a chance to speak, Yuji immediately pleads guilty and admits that he did it. He won’t lie and refuses to deny what happened, shocking the lawyer. The angry judge, bleeding from the eyes with rage, declares Yuji guilty. He punishes Yuji with confiscation as an additional punishment that comes with nothing but the death penalty.
