Summary:
Megumi teams up with Panda and infiltrates the fight club from the outside. They put together a plan to ensure Yuji’s meeting with Hakari goes off without a hitch, but it’s hard to factor in the other third year, Kiraru Hoshi, who could thwart their plot at any moment.
Plot:
Panda leaves the garage and meets Megumi in the nearby forest. He asks Megumi if she thinks Yuji will be able to make contact with Hakari. Megumi thinks so, but questions why Panda didn’t meet Hakari himself.
Panda knows that Hakari is in the rooftop monitoring room, but he can’t get near the door due to Kirara Hoshi’s cursed technique. Regardless of whether he is walking or running, when approaching the door, Panda cannot close the distance. He likens the feeling to the stopping effect of Infinity Satoru Gojo. Megumi asks if it’s only active when Kirara is in the monitoring room, but Panda isn’t sure since Kirara is always with Hakari.
Rather than forcing the issue, Panda appealed to the audience to avoid getting on Hakari’s bad side. Panda is grateful that the first years showed up, but Megumi is still concerned that Yuji was able to convince Hakari. Panda thinks that Yuji’s magic will work on Hakari, but he is also worried because Yuji is a bad liar. Panda gave him some tips in advance to be prepared for any situation.
The worst case scenario would be if Hakari finds out Yuji is with Jujutsu High and kicks him out. Panda wants to secure the area and monitor the door to prevent this, which means they’ll have to take out some guards. He knows where the cameras are and their blind spots, as well as the position of all the patrols. Megumi acknowledges that they might just have a solid plan, but Kirara’s technique remains the x-factor. If Hakari and Kirara can get Yuji out the door or somehow bring in more muscle, Megumi says they’ll have to give up their goal entirely.
After Yuji wins another fight in the fight club tournament, Megumi sends a text at 12:58. he says he has a meeting with Hakari at 1pm. Megumi immediately deletes the message from her phone. As each of the five patrols maintain their positions, Kirara brings Yuji to meet with Hakari. Kirara nicknames him Yu and calls him young, saying that Hakari had to repeat a year of high school. Yuji notices how cheerful Kirara is, and they respond with Hakari being hot again.
Megumi sneaks into the shadow of the first guard and mounts him from behind. He chokes the man unconscious, tapes his mouth shut and zip ties his hands. The second guard passes by unnoticed and Megumi also quickly slips into his shadow and ends up knocking him out with a triangle choke. Megumi manages to take them both out while staying in the camera’s blind spot. At the same time, the two guards notice Panda playing with the tire and think nothing of it. One of them is surprised that he is eating a fish sausage, while the other recognizes Panda from the tournament. Panda knocks them both down and takes the fish sausage before heading down the emergency stairwell where there are no cameras.
Panda regroups with Megumi on the roof, assuring him that any trouble caused by this won’t be a big deal later. They move to guard the door to the monitoring room, but Kirara suddenly leaves to a lower level room just a few feet below them. Megumi and Panda are both surprised that Kirara is not with Hakari. Kirara quickly notices that the pair recognize Megumi from the camera. They make the connection that Megumi and Yu are both from Jujutsu High as Panda. Believing that Hakari is in danger, Kirara reaches for the phone to call him. Acting quickly, Megumi summons Divine Dog: Totality to try and stop them.
Divine Dog moves to intercept Kirara, but is sent back to Megumi. Kirara drops their phone while Megumi realizes that their cursed technique prevented the Divine Dog from getting close. Kirara runs towards the monitoring room and Panda tries to explain that they are not enemies. Kirara does not believe that Panda simply has a request for Hakari and is angry at him for seemingly betraying them. Panda can’t get close to Kirara because of the technique, so Megumi orders Divine Dog to stop her path. This stops Kirara from approaching the Divine Dog, but Megumi is suddenly drawn to his shikigami. Megumi realizes that in addition to not being able to reach Kirara, she will not be able to separate herself from the Divine Dog. While wondering how this cursed technique works, neither he nor Panda notice the symbol on the bear’s back that reads “★Imai”.
Meanwhile, inside the monitoring room, Hakari meets Yuji for the first time. He asks if Yuji believes he could work one hour a day and make a million yen a month. Not sure what to say, Yuji just looks confused and replies “huh?”.
