Summary:
With a lack of information and no way to communicate inside the curtain, Zenin’s team splits up and tries to find Ijichi. Along the way, Nobara and Akari encounter Haruto Shigemo, who is surprisingly powerful. Shigem’s unusual cursed technique takes over the girls. Just as Shigemo looks set to take another victim, Nanami arrives to end his reign of terror.
Plot:
After returning from ferrying Ijichi to safety, Nanami tells himself that he has never been and never will be frustrated by his own uselessness. He feels like he’s just living in the face of all the evil in the world. He thinks of Haibara and Ijichi and wonders how the enemy dares to do this.
Meanwhile, Zena’s team fights against the transformed people at Shibuya Station. Akari Nitta warns them that it sounds like Ijichi was attacked while they were on the phone.
Maki tells Nobara and Akari to go check on Ijichi while she stays with lazy old man Zenin. The curtain blocks cell phone reception, so assistant managers are crucial for jujutsu wizards. Maki never believes that Satoru Gojo would lose, but he has a bad feeling about the situation.
On the way, Nobara and Akari are confronted by curse user Haruta Shigemo on Shoto Bunkamura Street. He’s happy to finally run into a girl after knocking out so many male managers. Believing that Shigemo is the one who attacked Ijichi, Nobara asks Nitta to pretend to hide in the subway entrance while he escapes the others.
Shigemo interrupts their whispering by throwing his sword at Nobaru. She deflects it with her hammer and lunges at him, believing him to be a mid-range fighter. He dodges her hammer and asks if they’ve met before. Nobara remembers him, but she denies it.
.
Suddenly, Shigemo somehow discovers that Akari is not actually hiding. As Akari walks through the station, Shigemo’s handsword passes a cursed tool hanging on the wall without her noticing. This leads Shigemo right to her place, where he runs to her after she’s already been attacked with a sword.
The curse user lands a soccer kick on the manager’s sternum, upsetting Nobara and injuring Akari. Nobara tries to stop him, but the sword suddenly falls into Shigemo’s hand, allowing him to slash Nobara’s lead leg, leaving a shallow cut. The cut brings Nobara’s attention to her lower body and allows Shigemo to attack her upper body. His sword landed a fierce right hook right into her jaw, leaving Nobara extremely dazed.
Nobara loses her balance on her feet and falls to her knees. The first-year student can’t believe how perfectly her opponent consistently lands. Shigemo asks Nobara if she is shaken, he kneels down to talk to her about some taunting matter. She claims to have gotten a lot stronger since their last encounter, but that doesn’t matter in the face of his strangely cursed technique. Shigemo looks at his sword and insists that even he isn’t sure what his technique is.
Nobara tries to buy time by questioning Shigem about his motivations. However, he has no convictions and kills simply because he enjoys it. He slashes Akari while she’s on the ground, angering Nobara. She tells him to stop and he mockingly responds by asking her to stop him. Nobara stumbles back to her feet determined to save Akari. Just as Shigemo prepares to break up with her, they both detect a strong presence.
Nanami walks into the substation and immediately stares at the curse user with a very not so happy look on her face. Shigemo notices Nanami’s outfit and wonders if she should kill other than black suits.
